Hip-Drop Tackle Roger Goodell Thursday Night Football NFL Schedule

The 2023 NFL Draft is in the rear-view mirror, and so the next thing on the 2023 NFL offseason calendar is the release of the league’s schedule for this fall.

According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the NFL will release its 2023 schedule on Thursday, May 11.

Each of the 17 opponents for every NFL team has already been determined by the league’s scheduling formula.

We also know that the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, will kick off the regular season with a home game on Thursday, Sept. 7.

We also already know that five international games will take place in 2023, with the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars hosting games in London and the Chiefs and New England Patriots hosting games in Germany.

The rest will be determined on May 11, when the full schedule comes out and fans can start making their plans for attending NFL games all around the country this fall.

One fly in the ointment could be the issue of flexible scheduling for Thursday Night Football games, which was tabled from the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix last month. The next meeting of the owners is not until May 22-24, so we might get a schedule that includes Thursday Night Football games without knowing whether they can be flexed or not.
