What do you do when your grandson gets drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers?

Jump up and dance, of course.

That is exactly what 92-year-old Ernestine Highsmith did when her grandson Alex was selected by the Steelers in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft on Friday night.

In the video shared to Twitter by Alex’s father Sam, Ernestine leapt from her recliner and showed off her moves upon hearing the news about her grandson, while relatives cheered her on in the background shouting “go grandma, go grandma.”

“It meant so much,” Alex told WECT News. “I love her so much and to see her get up and dance and have joy like she did just brought a lot of joy to me! She killed it and had rhythm too! Steeler nation definitely deserves to see that video!”

A former walk-on, Highsmith shined in his senior season for the Charlotte 49ers, finishing with the third-most sacks in the nation (14) and earning third team All-America honors.
