The Kansas City Chiefs are re-signing wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to a one-year deal worth $11 million, according to a report by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Brown, 27, missed most of last season with a clavicle injury, but he was productive down the stretch during Kansas City’s Super Bowl run.

With Brown returning to K.C., the Pittsburgh Steelers miss out on another potential wide receiver target. Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated tabbed the Steelers as a potential landing spot for Brown. The situation was out of the Steelers control, but if Brown hit free agency, they might have pounced on the opportunity to sign the speedy wideout.

“The Steelers need another playmaker on the outside opposite George Pickens, and Brown makes sense as a buy-low option,” Verderame wrote. “Brown is likely looking at his second consecutive one-year deal after playing just two regular-season games for the Chiefs last season after a shoulder injury. At 27 years old and with multiple productive years in his past, he’ll command a decent chunk on a short-term pact.”

It previously was reported that the Jacksonville Jaguars were planning on cutting wide receiver Christian Kirk, but the Jaguars ended up trading the veteran wide receiver to the Houston Texans for a 2026 seventh-round pick that originally belonged to the Los Angeles Rams.

The Jaguars new 34-year-old general manager James Gladstone pulled off a deal before release. Kirk was a receiver that could have been on the Steelers’ radar if he hit free agency.

The Steelers were reportedly nearing a deal for Kirk in October, near the trade deadline. Kirk suffered a season-ending collarbone injury Oct. 27, thus blowing up those plans.

The Steelers have been linked to Cooper Kupp of the Los Angeles Rams and Davante Adams, who was released by the New York Jets on Tuesday. Tyler Lockett, Darius Slayton, Chris Godwin and Amari Cooper are also free agent wide receivers.

The team could also look to the draft, where Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka, Texas’ Matthew Golden and Missouri’s Luther Burden III could be available when the Steelers pick at No. 21.
