MOBILE, Ala. — Notre Dame’s Isaiah Foskey had a storied career in South Bend with the Fighting Irish. Coming all the way from across the country in Antioch, California, Foskey is not your typical Notre Dame recruit, even if they look to get some players from just about everywhere across the map.

However, now as a heavily hyped-up prospect, Foskey has an opportunity to put the San Francisco area back on the map in the NFL. He racked up 25 sacks in his career during his four years with the Fighting Irish. Hailing from the same place as Steelers RB Najee Harris, Foskey is looking to follow in his footsteps.

“It’s always great to see guys from the same area as you,” Foskey said. “I wish Henry was out here because that’s my guy, we went to the same high school. It’s always great to put California, everyone knows about California, but it’s great to put the Bay Area and more on the map, especially Antioch. Everyone associates Antioch with Najee (Harris), so it’s cool to see more people come out from here.”

Foskey’s a versatile player that has been a standout on special teams in addition to his edge-rushing profile. He hopes that can show through during his week in Mobile as he hopes to raise his stock even more than where it already is right now. Isaiah Foskey is projected to be a likely first-round pick in April.

“My approach in coming here is just to be myself,” Foskey said. “I have nothing to hide, so I just want to be myself. Honestly, I just want to show them I can pass rush, stop the run, and drop into coverage. There will be a lot I can do here with some linebacker stuff, drop into flats. I want to show them I can be versatile here.”

One of the highest-rated players in Mobile, Foskey’s standout career at Notre Dame sets him up well to potentially make a splash against some solid offensive tackles at the Senior Bowl.
