Agent: Antonio Brown Getting NFL Interest Ahead of Arena Debut

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is receiving legitimate interested from NFL teams ahead of his expected return to professional football with the Albany Express of the NAL this weekend.

Brown, 34, was one of the most dominant receivers in NFL history in his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010-18, but since then has caused a slew of on- and off-the-field issues, including several lawsuits, arrests, sexual assault allegations and a lengthy suspension.


Brown’s last act in the NFL came in 2021, when he walked off the field in the middle of a game while playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This spring, Brown purchased an interest in the Albany Empire, the successor to the indoor team that his father, “Touchdown” Eddie Brown played for. Eddie Brown is the team’s general manager and Antonio, in an effort to turn around the fortunes of a team struggling at the gate and in the standings, said he plans to play in Saturday night’s game against the Fayetteville Mustangs.

That has piqued the interest of several NFL teams, his agent told CBS Sports on Thursday.

“He is exploring the right fit,” Rickert said. “I think that he is a multi-talented individual who does everything at a high level, and whatever he commits to, he goes all in.”

In addition to his return to action, Brown is offering free tickets to military veterans and first responders to the game at Albany’s MVP Arena on Saturday.

The only quarterback currently listed on the team’s roster is Slippery Rock alum and former Pittsburgh Maulers quarterback and Steelers tryout Roland Rivers III.
