Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen added more fuel to the fire of the Steelers-Ravens rivalry when he attacked the culinary scene of Baltimore in an interview with Mark Kaboly of The Athletic. Overall, he thinks Pittsburgh is just a better atmosphere.

“It was a no-brainer,” Queen said. “At the end of the day, money makes you happy, but you also have to win to be happy. I’d rather win and be happy than be miserable with a lot of money. It’s a better atmosphere here for me. Everybody is cool, the people are cool, the players are cool and the food spots are better. I am a big food guy. I love food. I am more of a true food guy rather than a seafood guy. I like meat and stuff like that. It’s just a better atmosphere for me here.”

This comment didn’t sit well with the folks in Baltimore, as The Big Bad Morning Show absolutely ripped Queen.

“Not good, not good at all,” co-host Jeremy Conn said when asked how fans will receiver Queen on Dec. 21 when he returns to Baltimore. “He’s embraced Pittsburgh already. He’s kinda turned into a villain already with some of his comments. … I think he’s got a chip on his shoulder. Part of coming to Pittsburgh is about here and showing the Ravens he should’ve been paid here.”

In his introductory press conference with the Steelers, Queen embraced the villain role. Promising to shakeup the Steelers-Ravens rivalry.

“It’s going to be weird, but I want to be that villain. I want to be that guy. I’m looking to do some stuff to them,” Queen said.

In an exclusive interview with Derrick Bell of Steelers Now, Patrick Queen revealed an interesting nugget on why he signed with the Steelers in free agency. According to Queen, he had opportunities to earn more money elsewhere but chose Pittsburgh because he is focused on winning right now. This comment ruffled the feathers of the Ravens fanbase, too.

“Some of the comments just seem silly to me,” Conn said. “I know he talked restaurants and he’s not a big seafood person. You don’t have to eat seafood to find great food in Baltimore. If you want french fries on your sandwiches, go ahead and take your sorry ass to Pittsburgh.”

Awwww, sensitive host over there in Baltimore… Look, The Valley of the Sun has better food, atmosphere, environment and weather than both Pittsburgh and Baltimore… If PQ had chosen the Arizona Cardinals to play for, he would’ve found that out, too… I love the ‘REAL’ look and sound of PQ… I love the villain look and sound of PQ… I love when a pro athlete can turn the table on a weak-minded media-wannabe guy and put his sensitivity on blast… Of course, that media guy will say as his excuse: “I’m just doing my job — trying to to get… Read more »
