Not only does Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre hold the record for most interceptions thrown in a career, but he also owns the unfortunate mark for most times sacked at 525.

Luckily for Favre, his regrettable sack record could be broken in 2021, as Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady are both on pace to surpass him this season.

Brady is closer to the milestone being sacked 512 times while Roethlisberger has been brought down on 516 occasions.

Even with a five sacks deficit, Roethlisberger looks to have the inside track over Brady.

The Steelers are replacing virtually their entire offensive line from a season ago. As a result, Roethlisberger could find himself under pressure more often than he has over the latter half of his career while the group searches for cohesion.

Pittsburgh is also scheduled to face a number of premier pass rushers this season that will test that green offensive line, including Cleveland’s Myles Garrett, Chicago’s Khalil Mack, Denver’s Von Miller and the Los Angeles Chargers’ Joey Bosa. Former Steeler and current Titan Bud Dupree makes his return to Heinz Field as well.

Brady, on the other hand, has one of the better offensive line units in all of football, a group that is on the heels of a Super Bowl title.

Roethlisberger was sacked just 13 times last year, but that was more so a function of the short, quick passing game Pittsburgh implemented.
