The Cincinnati Bengals have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Sean Davis to their practice squad, the club announced Wednesday.

The acquisition comes after Cincinnati placed safety Ricardo Allen on injured reserve. He suffered a hand injury in the Bengals’ win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

A second-round selection out of the University of Maryland in 2016, Davis played five seasons in Pittsburgh before signing with the Washington Football Team as a free agent in 2020.

Davis was cut by Washington and promptly rejoined the Steelers for the 2020 campaign.

He has seen action in 65 career games with 42 starts. Davis has recorded 259 combined tackles, 21 passes defended and five interceptions.

Davis had been signed to the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad two weeks ago, but was released on Tuesday.
