It was revealed on Saturday that Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was fined $15,914 for an unflagged roughing the passer call in last Thursday night’s game against the Steelers.

There was no announcement on a fine for Steelers rights tackle Chuks Okorafor’s controversial block on Browns linebacker Anthony Walker, who was injured on the play.

Garrett thought Okorafor’s block was unnecessary and called it a “bull**** play.”

“He’s not moving. You don’t jump on the guy. That was a bull**** play,” Garrett said.

After Walker went down, Okorafor jumped on him to make sure he stayed down, which is long-standing principle coached to offensive lineman. Many Browns fans and players thought it was a dirty play, however.

“There’s nasty stuff and then there’s inadvertent stuff and it seemed like that wasn’t exactly inadvertent,” Browns right guard Wyatt Teller said. “It seemed like he wanted to cause more pain, which is weird. But the NFL will handle that.”

Garrett was fined $45,623 and suspended for the remainder of the season after hitting Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph in the head with his own helmet in a brawl in the final seconds of the game.

On Saturday, Garrett was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons following his single-car crash earlier this week. Thankfully, Garett suffered no life-threatening injuries in the accident, but he hurt his shoulder, biceps, had several cuts and bruises, and broke a blood vessel in his left eye when he lost control while speeding near his home, according to the Associated Press. Garrett veered into a ditch, hit a fire hydrant and flipped his car several times on Monday after practice.

Garrett told the Cleveland media on Friday that he’s “grateful to be alive” after his accident and that it was “definitely a wakeup call” in terms of driving safely.
