The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed former Steelers offensive lineman Brandon Walton to their practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday.

Walton was signed to the Steelers’ practice squad just after the start of the 2020 season, and he spent all of last year with the club. He re-signed with the Steelers for 2021, but was part of the team’s first cuts this season on Aug. 17.

Walton originally signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent out of FAU last saeason. He was cut by the Bills on Sept. 4 and signed with the practice squad, but was released from the Buffalo practice squad and caught on with the Steelers on Sept. 19

Walton played in 44 games over four seasons at FAU, winning two Conference USA titles with the Owls while playing both left and right tackle. He was a 2019 All-Conference USA selection.

The Steelers elected to keep linemen Chaz Green, John Leglue and Malcolm Pridgeon on the practice squad this season instead of Walton.

Defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson was also added to another team’s practice squad after being cut by the Steelers, signing with the Chicago Bears.
