Steelers DL Cam Heyward Honing Technique with ‘Dr. Rush’

The NFL offseason is in full swing, but that is not stopping Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward from honing his craft.

Heyward has been working with renowned defensive line guru Chuck “Dr. Rush” Smith, as he looks to add new tools ahead of his eleventh season.

Smith shared of clip of Heyward’s offseason training on Twitter from March 25.

A nine-year veteran in his own right, Smith has worked with some of the NFL’s best pass rushers, including Tampa Bay’s Shaq Barrett and Denver’s Von Miller.

Selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, Heyward has played his entire career in Pittsburgh. He has earned two First-Team All-Pro selections and been named to four Pro Bowls.

Heyward totaled 54 total tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, four sacks and an interception in 2020.
