CLEVELAND — Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward took sole possession of fifth place on the team’s all-time sack list by combining to sack Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield on the opening drive of Sunday’s game against the Browns.

Heyward combined with outside linebacker T.J. Watt to sack Mayfield, giving him 60.5 career sacks. He had been tied with Joey Porter for fifth place all time with 60 sacks.

“I’m just honored to be tied with a guy like Joey Porter, Heyward said after tying the linebacker on Oct. 19. “That’s a guy that I respect that’s a legend in my book.”

The Steelers’ career sack leader is James Harrison with 80.5. He’s followed unofficially by L.C. Greenwood with 78 and Joe Greene with 77.5. Sacks were not official NFL statistics until 1982, but research by Pro Football Reference has included all sacks back to 1960. Jason Gildon is fourth with 77 and then Heyward has 60.5.
