There might not be MLB baseball in Pittsburgh this spring, but Steelers defensive captain Cam Heyward is once again teaming up with the Washington Wild Things to put on the Three Rivers Celebrity Softball Game at Wild Things Park this summer.

Heyward, along with the Wild Things and The Coury Firm and Audacy radio will host the game, with proceeds benefitting Heyward House, Heyward’s personal charity. Tickets are $10.

The game will feature media, celebrities and athletes from Pittsburgh facing a team of team of the same from around the world. Last season, fellow Steelers Alex Highsmith, Diontae Johnson and Pat Freiermuth also participated and the event raised over $10,000 for Heyward’s charity.

“The Heyward House is excited about the 2nd Annual Celebrity Softball Game with the Washington Wild Things,” Heyward House executive director Charlotte Heyward said in a press release. “Cam and his crew will be preparing in the off season. Get your popcorn ready!”

Heyward was the Steelers’ 2021 nominee for the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his various charitable contributions and willingness to give back to the city.

The Wild Things are entering their 20th season of independent minor-lague baseball in Washington. The club’s season starts May 13.
