After he was asked how the Pittsburgh Steelers could improve their practice habits, wide receiver Chase Claypool suggested that the team could play music, a comment that did raise some eyebrows throughout the media and fanbase.

Steelers defensive end and captain Cam Heyward did not appreciate the second-year wideout’s remarks either, and did not mince words when asked about Claypool’s suggestion on the DVE Morning Show on Tuesday.

“I hope he was kidding because as soon as he said it I was literally about to rip the speaker out,” Heyward said. “That is not what we need right now. It’s X’s & O’s and it’s execution.”

When the hosts noted that they didn’t believe Claypool’s comment was a joke, Heyward assured them that his teammate would be disappointed.

“Well then he’s gonna be in shock because there’s not gonna be anything played during practice,” Heyward responded.

The Steelers find themselves at 5-5-1, and have not won a game since their Monday night victory over the Chicago Bears back on Nov. 8.

Pittsburgh is currently third in the AFC North standings and five spots removed from the playoffs.
