Clemson CB Andrew Booth Has Formal Meeting With Steelers at Combine

INDIANAPOLIS — The Steelers had a formal meeting with Clemson cornerback and potential first-round pick Andrew Booth Jr.

Booth was a true junior who declared early for the draft after multiple impressive seasons. He is an incredibly explosive athlete with great body control. Working in a variety of coverages, Booth has shown the ability to work both in an off-man scenario, zone coverage scenario, and play-up on receivers. He was essentially an eraser for the Clemson defense all year.

The ball production is something that has to come along given that he is often in in-phase. However, with his body control and hands, it may just be about spatial focus and rhythmic concerns. Getting his head around will be key to Booth becoming a splashy playmaker at the next level.

The first-team All-ACC selection had three interceptions, five pass breakups, and 39 tackles overall in the 2021 season. He battled through some injuries, but overall put up a season that will have him in the midst of the first-round conversation.
