Cowboys Trade Amari Cooper to Browns

The Cleveland Browns have acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys, according to multiple reports Saturday.

Dallas in return will receive a 2022 fifth-round selection and swap sixth-rounders with Cleveland.

While the Cowboys’ haul for Cooper appears minuscule, Dallas was likely going to release him anyways to avoid paying his $20 million base salary for this upcoming season.

As for the Browns, they do not give up much at all to add another weapon for quarterback Baker Mayfield on the perimeter.

Cooper has earned four Pro Bowl selections over his eight-year career.

In total, he has caught 517 passes for 7,076 yards and 46 touchdowns.

The trade will become official Wednesday with the beginning of the new league year.
