STEELERS DRAFT DIGEST

🏈 USC and former Pitt WR Jordan Addison is likely to declare for the 2023 NFL Draft, NFL Network reported on Wednesday. Addison, who was the number one receiver of Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett in his last two seasons at Pitt, won the Biletnikoff Award in 2021. In 2022, he was limited by an ankle injury that held his yardage down to only 875 yards. However, he is a projected first-round pick, and the interest in him will be something to watch for the Steelers.

🏈 In a mock draft done by Brentley Weissman of the Draft Network, the Steelers land Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. As the most commonly mocked player to Pittsburgh at this point, it is little surprise to see Porter Jr. land with Pittsburgh at this point.

“Pittsburgh’s secondary has needed a true CB1 for the past decade it feels like, and they finally get one here in this NFL mock draft,” Weissman wrote. “What better player than the son of Steelers great Joey Porter Sr to add to this secondary? Joey Porter Jr. has the length and playmaking ability to greatly improve this defense.”

🏈 Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports released his new mock draft on Wednesday and the Steelers landed Ohio State tackle Paris Johnson Jr. Johnson is thought to be one of the top three tackles in the 2023 NFL Draft, and could have the eyes of the Steelers on him.

“The Steelers have to add reinforcement along the offensive line for Kenny Pickett,” Trapasso wrote.

Trapasso has Johnson ranked the second tackle in the draft behind Northwestern’s Peter Skoronski and ranked Johnson 17th overall on his big board.

🏈 The Reese’s Senior Bowl honored late Steelers running back and Hall of Famer Franco Harris. A Senior Bowl invite when he came out of Penn State in 1972, Harris earned an induction into the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame in 1992.

“The Immaculate Reception. One of the greatest plays in football history. Rest in Peace Franco Harris. Franco was inducted into the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame in 1992,” the statement read.
