🏈 Jersey Jerry of Barstool Sports tried to recruit New York Jets All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Gardner wasn’t having it. He loves playing for the Jets.
🏈 Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated believes Justin Fields has a shot at getting a deal similar to the one Sam Darnold got with the Minnesota Vikings last year.
“Speaking of the Steelers, this is, of course, a big week for Pittsburgh to try to get Justin Fields re-signed. He’ll have options elsewhere. One team would be the New York Jets, and I wouldn’t be stunned to see Indy throw its hat in the ring if he gets to the market. I think he has a shot to get a deal like Sam Darnold got with the Minnesota Vikings last year,” Breer wrote.
🏈 The Green Bay Packers are heavy favorites to land Davonte Adams at +190, according to DraftKings. The Steelers have +950 odds, which is fifth-best, behind the Los Angeles Rams (+750), San Francisco 49ers (+650) and Los Angeles Chargers (+500).
🏈 Multiple teams have contacted the Cincinnati Bengals about the availability of wide receiver Tee Higgins after Cincinnati placed the franchise tag on him Monday, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. They’ve been told the receiver remains unavailable as the Bengals continue to pursue a long-term deal.
🏈 Russell Wilson gave a shoutout to Tyler Lockett following his release from Seattle on Wednesday.
🏈 The Los Angeles Chargers announced on Wednesday night that they’ve released outside linebacker Joey Bosa. The release creates over $25 million in 2025 cap space for L.A.
🏈 Matt Williamson of Steelers.com does not want Najee Harris back with the team. Harris’ explosive run rate was one of the worst in the league last season.
🏈 Warren Sharp of Sharp Football thinks re-singing Justin Fields won’t accomplish anything. Pittsburgh will still be stuck in quarterback purgatory.
🏈Adam Schefter of ESPN believes the Steelers are going to work on getting a deal done with Justin Fields or Russell Wilson this week. He thinks Fields is first on the pecking order.
