🏈 Pittsburgh Pirates standout rookie pitcher Paul Skenes stopped by the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice on Thursday.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin wrote on X, “Thanks to @Paul_Skenes for stopping by practice today. I have so much respect for this young man and his professional approach. Was great to finally meet him.”

🏈 Paul Skenes also swapped jerseys with Steelers All-Pro outside linebacker T.J. Watt during his visit.

🏈 Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered another concussion in Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills. With it being Tagovailoa’s fourth concussion within the last two years, former NFL players Dez Bryant and Shannon Sharpe think he needs to consider retiring.

“That’s it….NFL go ahead and do the right thing. Tua has had entirely way too many concussions. He need to retire for his longevity health concern,” Bryant wrote on X.

“Really hope Tua is ok, but he’s gotta seriously think about shutting it dwn. I H8 saying this. His concussions are getting worse and worse and he’s a young man with his entire life ahead of him,” Sharpe wrote on X.

🏈 The Steelers are 32-11-1 in one-score games since 2020, per Daniel Valente of The Score. The Steelers’ win percentage (.739%) in one-score games in that time frame is the best in the league.

🏈 The Steelers and New York Giants are the only teams in the NFL without a touchdown this season. The Giants lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 28-6, in Week 1, while the Steelers defeated the Falcons, 18-10. Chris Boswell’s six field goals contributed all of Pittsburgh’s points.

🏈 Steelers left tackle Dan Moore Jr. had an impressive outing in the season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. He received a 88.7 pass-blocking grade (3rd in the NFL) on 29 pass-blocking snaps and allowed zero pressures, according to Pro Football Focus.

🏈 Thursday marked the 20-year anniversary of Jerome Bettis’ most bizarre stat line — five rushes for 1 yard and three touchdowns in a Steelers’ 24-21 win over the Oakland Raiders on opening day at Heinz Field.

Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky thinks if the Steelers beat the Broncos, then Justin Fields should be the longterm starter.

“If they find a way to win this game and their offense is functional enough, you don’t look back,” Orlovsky said on Get Up.
