š Rich Eisen believes Aaron Rodgers will get a contract North of $40 million.
āI think Aaron Rodgers is gonna start with a four. North of $40 million. How about this? Two years, $70 million, with incentives that can pop it up more,” Eisen said.
š Jeremy Fowler of ESPN gave the latest on the Aaron Rodgers saga.
āThe Pittsburgh Steelers do remain optimistic. Based on everything Iām hearing, they are willing to wait this out.” Fowler said. “And a lot of people Iāve talked to in the quarterback market, some sources close to Jameis Winstonās process, Russell Wilson, etc. They believe that Rodgers must have some sort of assurance from the Steelers, or vice versa, that they could end up together. Theyāve already talked contract potential parameters, he visited with the team. ⦠So does he continue to wait until closer to the draft, or do they come to some sort of agreement [before that]? It appears that nothing is imminent right now, and you can expect the unpredictable with Aaron Rodgers.”
š Charles Davis of NFL.com has the Steelers selecting Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart at 21st overall in his latest mock draft.
“It wasnāt long ago that the Steelers selected Kenny Pickett at No. 20 overall. Three years and one pick later in Round 1, they draft another QB that they believe will be their guy for the future, whether Aaron Rodgers eventually joins them or not,” Davis wrote.
š Former New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison doesnāt believe Aaron Rodgers going to the Steelers is a good situation.
āI look at Aaron Rodgers and everything thatās happened to him the last few years, and he just does not look like any resemblance of the same quarterback,ā Harrison said on Football Night in America. āAt times, heās gonna give you some great moments in spot duty, but overall, I donāt trust him. I donāt trust that heās gonna stay healthy. I donāt trust that itās gonna be a good situation.ā
š Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro defensive end Maxx Crosby predicts that Aaron Rodgers will retire.
āI think he retires. I think the fact that heās not with Davante and heās not very familiar with Pittsburgh, I donāt know. I think he retires,ā Crosby said on The Rush with Maxx Crosby podcast. āHeās about 42 now. I would like that. I feel like that would make sense, him going to the Steelers. I think they need a quarterback; they need a guy whoās a vet, a proven dude. But I donāt know. I donāt see it. I just donāt see that as a thing. I canāt see him in a Pittsburgh uniform. My brain canāt put that together.ā
š Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman thinks Aaron Rodgers should make a decision sooner rather than later.
āIf I was Aaron Rodgers, I wouldnāt want to get into the same predicament as I got into with the Jets,ā Edelman said on the Dudes On Dudes podcast. āYou get there kind of late, you donāt really practice that much, and all of a sudden, the season comes out and weāre not looking like we need to be looking because weāre not on the same page. Wherever heās gonna sign, I would sign as soon as possible so you can learn the players around the team that youāre gonna be playing with. If you watch last year, on the Jets, I think Week 8 on, Aaron Rodgers played pretty damn good football. Thatās because he started to learn his players, I feel.ā
