Do Steelers Have a Shot at Signing Tee Higgins? | Steelers Morning Rush

Steelers Tee Higgins

Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today’s it’s whether Omar Khan and company have an actual chance of signing Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins as a free agent.

Higgins played the 2024 season under the franchise tag after his contract expired in 2023, but that doesn’t mean that Higgins will be free to hit the free agent market this offseason.

The Bengals have the ability to tag him again, even if they don’t intent to sign him for 2025. That gives the Bengals some control over the process, and possibly as much as two first-round draft picks in compensation.

Cincinnati can also use the tag to make sure that Higgins doesn’t end up with one of their AFC North rivals like the Steelers, Baltimore Ravens or Cleveland Browns.

Alan breaks it down.
