Steelers Franco Harris Caught the Immaculate Reception

Pittsburgh Steelers’ Hall of Famer Franco Harris will announce the first pick for the team in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Steelers pick No. 20 overall in the first round, the NFL announced on Thursday.

Harris was the No. 13 overall pick of the Steelers in 1972. He spent 12 years in Pittsburgh, winning four Super Bowls with the team. He played his last year with the Seattle Seahawks in 1984 and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1990.

Harris was elected to nine consecutive Pro Bowls from 1972-80 and was an All Pro in 1977. The fullback was Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl IX. He rushed 34 times in that 16-6 victory over the Minnesota Vikings for 158 yards and a touchdown.

Harris was drafted out of Penn State and, ironically, could announce a player from Pitt tonight as there’s a possibility that the Steelers select quarterback Kenny Pickett with their pick in the draft.

Harris also announced the team’s first round pick in 2021, a fellow running back in Najee Harris.
