PITTSBURGH — The Steelers are back in the locker room at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, and with that, the music is beginning to bump yet again. In Latrobe, two players had AUX responsibilities in Marcus Allen and Tre Norwood.

That means that a battle for control of the AUX responsibilities to see who gets to play the locker room music is underway. As the locker room hypeman, Allen, who is also known as ‘Chico’ around the Steelers locker room, got the first crack at it after Wednesday’s practice. During the media availability after practice, Allen went from ”Not Wrong Now’ by Youngboy Never Broke Again right into ‘Man on My Word’ by Lil Durk and Lil Baby.

Norwood has not got his chance just yet to take over the scene on the South Side. But he got plenty of chances to do just that in Latrobe. Now, the locker room is torn between who should potentially get to play in the locker room.

Our Friday Take Five this week is with Norwood and Allen, and their battle over the AUX.

Steelers Now: Tre, a lot of people are hyping up your music choices. What is your AUX playlist?

Tre Norwood: I’m very versatile on the AUX, too. Whatever the mood is, if you want to get turnt, I get can get you turnt. Levi is down there hating but he knows, he was in the same locker room with me all of camp. He knows. If you want something chill, I can do chill. I can do all different genres. So, I think you can ask anyone on the team, it speaks for itself.

Steelers Now: Who are some artists that would appear on the Tre Norwood playlist?

Tre Norwood: Let’s do a little pre-practice playlist, so it’s going to be a little more turnt. We’ll have some Lil Baby, Lil Durk, some H.E.R., throw some YB (Youngboy Never Broke Again) in there. A couple of artists people might not know about, but Big Scar, the whole 1017 label. But that’s just some of the stuff I’ll throw on there.

Steelers Now: Who would be on a more chill playlist?

Tre Norwood: Personally for me, you might get a little Rod Wave on there. People think Rod is always sad, but it’s about the vibes. I’ll throw some Blxst, he’s a California artist. Another California artist, Kalan.FRFR I’ll throw on. Someone else I’ve been listening to here recently, Lil Bean. That’s a Bay Area guy. I’ve been on a lot of California stuff lately.

Steelers Now: How hard are you two fighting each other over the AUX?

Tre Norwood: You can holler at him, but he knows it’s coming to me first. If we get a vote on the team today, it will come to me first and him second. But he’s nice on the AUX too.

Marcus Allen: Look at who is on the AUX right now. It’s me, right? I think I’d get it. Because look at who got the first crack at it in here.

For the fifth and final question, Steelers Now polled multiple players throughout the locker room as to who would get the AUX between Allen and Norwood. The results were close, but Norwood edged out Allen 15 to 14 in the voting. Either way, it would appear the the locker room is very much split over who should get the AUX in the locker room.
