ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — For the first 25 minutes against the Buffalo Bills Sunday night, the Steelers shut down the potent Buffalo passing combination of Josh Allen to Stephon Diggs.

Then, Diggs got loose in a big way. Buffalo racked up 20 points across the end of the second quarter and begging of the third quarter and it was the Allen-to-Diggs combo that hurt Pittsburgh the most.

While Pittsburgh’s patchwork secondary had its hands full with the Buffalo wide receivers, the Steelers’ front four got to Allen just one time. Despite giving up just 19 points in total as a defense, the unit was unhappy with its performance.

“We played like crap today It’s as simple as that,” defensive captain Cam Heyward said. “We can sit up in here and talk about our defense in the first quarter, but after that, it went to hell.”
