‘Throw Me the F***ing Ball’: George Pickens Shows Frustration in Atlanta

George Pickens only has one catch for two yards against the Atlanta Falcons, and he is as frustrated as he has ever been. Cam Heyward and Diontae Johnson have consoled Pickens multiple times on the sideline as he was not seeing the football throughout the game.

However, after a near-fumble by Johnson, Pickens was upset that he did not get a look despite being in single coverage. Afterward, on the sideline, it appeared that Pickens was irate and yelled at coaches. Once his helmet was off, Pickens started to express his discontent.

“Throw me the ball, man. Throw me the f***ing ball,” Pickens said.

It is easy to see why. The Steelers have thrown the ball 27 times, but Pickens has only two targets. The team’s supposed explosive playmaker, he has not been involved even when the Steelers have needed to find an explosive spark offensively.

So, the Steelers will have to look to get Pickens involved more in the coming weeks. As a rookie, it is easy to get frustrated after being the main target in an offense since high school. That is even true for Pickens, who was the main target at Georgia in that talented Bulldogs offense. As such, the Steelers will need to manage the personalities and wants of George Pickens and their receivers moving forward.
