Six years ago today, on April 10, 2015, legendary Steelers safety Troy Polamalu announced his retirement from the National Football League.

Polamalu finished his career as an eight-time Pro Bowler, a six-time All-Pro, the 2010 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade Team and the Steelers All-Time Team.

He recorded 770 tackles, 12 sacks, 32 interceptions, forced 14 fumbles, defended 107 passes and scored five touchdowns.

Last year, Polamalu was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and he’ll be officially enshrined in Canton, Ohio later this summer.
