Birthday wishes are in order for former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and defensive end Aaron Smith, as the former teammates turn 41 and 45, respectively, on April 19.

Regarded as one of the best safeties in NFL history, Polamalu was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020. The 2010 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, he also won a pair Super Bowls, earned eight Pro Bowl nods and was named First-Team All-Pro four times.

Polamalu totaled 783 combined tackles, 56 tackles-for-loss, 32 interceptions, 14 forced fumbles and 12 sacks over his 12-year career.

While he may not have received the accolades and recognition of some of his counterparts, Smith was a pivotal facet of a Steelers defense that won a pair of Super Bowls.

Drafted in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft out of Northern Colorado, Smith also earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2004.

He recorded 481 total tackles, 84 tackles-for-loss and 44 sacks over his 13 seasons.
