Hall of Fame Steelers lineman Alan Faneca is moving on to the next step of his career.

Faneca, 44, will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021 this summer, but he’s already making plans to be back on the sidelines this fall.

Faneca has been hired as the next head football coach at Frank W. Cox High School in his new hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia, the school announced on social media on Monday.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Faneca attended high school in River Ridge, La. and Rosenberg, Texas before attending college at LSU, where he met his wife Julie, who is a Virginia Beach native.

During his playing career, the Fanecas lived in the Virginia Beach area, and moved there after his retirement. He had previously been an assistant coach with the program at Frank W. Cox, according to WTKR.

Faneca will be replacing Bill Stachelksi, who stepped down after compiling an 88-47 record in a 13-year run as head football coach. Stachelski remains at Frank W. Cox as golf coach.
