Insider Reveals Aaron Rodgers Saga Has Created ‘Weird Vibe’ in Steelers Organization
NFL insider Josina Anderson revealed that the Aaron Rodgers saga has created a "weird vibe" amongst the Steelers organization.

Another day has come and gone without a decision by free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Following a lot of speculation that he was going to announce he’s signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers at Pat McAfee’s sold out “Big Night AHT” event at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday and then not, things could be starting to get uncomfortable.
According to a league source from NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Steelers organization is starting to get a little antsy with its current quarterback situation.
“The vibe? I would say it feels a little weird here,” Anderson posted on X. “The running joke around here right now is ‘who’s going to be our quarterback?’ Now, I wouldn’t say there’s any panic though; but the current QB depth says what it says.”
Pittsburgh has just Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson under contract for the 2025 season. That will change, but the question is, when?
It doesn’t seem like even the Steelers have the answer to that question. They remain confident they’ll eventually land Rodgers, but have not put a timeframe on him to make a decision.

As a result, Pittsburgh has been forced to do its homework on the 2025 NFL Draft’s quarterback class, which is considered to be much weaker than previous years. The Steelers are hosting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders for a pre-draft visit on Thursday, but he seems to be out of reach as the consensus No. 2 quarterback prospect.
It could be that the Steelers are simply trying to put pressure on Rodgers to make a decision, but nothing has worked to this point, which likely means nothing will.
Rodgers is playing a risky game himself of potentially losing the starting job in Pittsburgh if the team is able to land a quarterback elsewhere. However, for now, the Steelers seem to be at the mercy of Rodgers with no end in sight.
