Is Hype for T.J. Watt, Steelers Defense Real?
Locked On Steelers Podcast: Is the hype behind the 2024 Steelers defense, and specifically T.J. Watt, after Week 1 real?
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense in general, and outside linebacker T.J. Watt specifically, are getting plenty of hype from their performance in an 18-10 Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons that saw the Steelers shut out Atlanta in the second half. Watt was a monster, looking every bit like an early favorite to win his second NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award.
That’s drawn plenty of attention from national media, a group that seemed to be down on Watt and these same Steelers a year ago.
Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Podcast to discuss the hype, why it’s happening, and whether it’s real, or if Week 1 was a bit of a mirage.
