Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis is lending a hand to a local charity that was partnered with his Bus Stops Here Foundation, but fallen on hard times this holiday season.

Family Resources, a local organization that prevents & treats child abuse by strengthening families and neighborhoods, had been collecting coats, hats, gloves and toy for the holiday season, with the Bus Stops Here Foundation’s assistance, but their facility was broken into over the weekend, with everything collected stolen.

“My foundation is determined to give these special kids the holiday they deserve,” Bettis said.

When Bettis heard of the tragedy, he decided to step in, announcing Tuesday he will be giving away a pair of autographed jerseys to help raise funds for the cause.
