Jersey Number Revealed for New Steelers Wide Receiver
The jersey number has been revealed for new Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Robert Woods, who joined the team last week.

The jersey number for new Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Robert Woods has been revealed, and it’s one that was very recently worn by another player.
Woods will wear No. 16 with the Steelers for the 2025 season after signing with the team last week. Wide receiver Quez Watkins wore the same number for Pittsburgh last season.
However, Woods will do his best to make better use of No. 16. Watkins spent the 2024 season on the Steelers practice squad while Woods has a good chance to make the team’s 53-man roster.
Woods is joining a wide receiver room that includes DK Metcalf, George Pickens, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Ben Skowronek and Brandon Johnson, among others. So it’s easy to project him as Pittsburgh’s No. 4 or 5 wide receiver.
The 33-year-old is coming off the worst season of his 12-year NFL career, recording a career-low 20 catches for 203 yards and zero touchdowns. But he could still prove to be a viable option in the Steelers pass attack
Woods was originally drafted in the second round (No. 41) of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, with whom he spent the first four years of his NFL career with. He then made stops with the Los Angeles Rams (2017-21), Tennessee Titans (2022) and Houston Texans (2023-24).

His best season to date was with the Rams in 2018, when he recorded 86 receptions for a career-high 1,219 yards and six touchdowns. During his time in LA, he appeared in two Super Bowls, winning one (LVI).
The 2025 season will be Woods’ first time wearing No. 16. He wore No. 10 with the Bills and No. 2 and 17 with the Rams, Titans and Texans.
