Jets Put Davante Adams on Trade Block, Will Steelers Pounce?
On Sunday, reports surfaced the New York Jets would like to trade Davante Adams prior to the beginning of the new league year.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been in the market for a steady wide receiver since last offseason. On Sunday, reports surfaced that the New York Jets are attempting to trade Davante Adams before the beginning of the new league year.
Pittsburgh had an interest in trying to acquire Adams last season from the Las Vegas Raiders. Ultimately, the Jets outbid the Steelers with both draft capital and the presence of Adams’ long-time quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.
Adams and Rodgers had a rough end of the season as the Jets faltered. This led to the decision of the new Jets regime to move on from Rodgers and inevitably Adams. The Jets will need to be open to a lowered compensation return if they want to complete a trade.

It also goes without saying Adams will play a heavy factor in where he ends up. He could always force the hand of the New York front office by not accepting a trade and subsequently being released. That scenario makes it easier for him to follow Rodgers who wanted to bring him to the Los Angeles Rams before they retained Matthew Stafford.
The new league year is 10 days away. The Steelers’ options at receiver may grow between now and then. For now, Pittsburgh may look at routes they explored last year via trade.
