It turns out that JuJu Smith-Schuster did not complete the entire milk crate challenge.

In a video that quickly circulated on social media, the star wideout was seen attempting the challenge with spotters by his side. Regardless of his nearby friends, many were quick to express confusion and anger towards Smith-Schuster for attempting a challenge with potentially dangerous consequences so close to the beginning of a new season.

In an interview with Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, JuJu was quick to downplay the situation.

“My boys had my back,” said Smith-Schuster. “Let’s just say that.”

He then explains that he did not fully attempt the challenge, as some were quick to believe.

“If you actually watch the video, I wasn’t all the way doing it through.”

For those unfamiliar, the challenge features someone walking up a stack of milk crates as if it was a staircase before descending down the large stack. Some have done it successfully, many, of course, have learned about the difficulty of the challenge the hard way after taking a tumble.

Earlier this week, JuJu sent the internet ablaze, yet again, after expressing his desire to box YouTuber, or maybe boxer, Jake Paul

JuJu and the Steelers will first look to deliver a knockout punch to the Buffalo Bills in the season opener on Sunday at 1 p.m.
