PITTSBURGH — The Steelers will start Damontae Kazee, Levi Wallace, and Cam Sutton amid multiple injures in the Steelers’ secondary. While Pittsburgh was hoping to get healthy, Minkah Fitzpatrick’s appendectomy threw a wrench in those plans as he is now expected to miss multiple weeks. Fitzpatrick was with the team on Sunday, but the earliest he is likely to return will be on November 28th against the Indianapolis Colts.

Meanwhile, Ahkello Witherspoon suffered a hamstring injury, again keeping him out for more games. Newly acquired cornerback William Jackson III is still dealing with a nagging back injury that left him out of three games while with the Washington Commanders. He is now on injured reserve. In their place, Cam Sutton and Levi Wallace, who is now back from a shoulder injury.

The Steelers’ secondary has never fully been healthy this season. Only Arthur Maulet has not missed some game time with an injury this season among key contributors. While Pittsburgh is about as healthy as they can be as a team now with T.J. Watt back into the fold, the fact that Fitzpatrick is scheduled to miss multiple games, including a critical divisional matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

In the coming weeks, Pittsburgh will hope they can get some of the secondary back to be able to mix and match personnel and packages more than they have all season.
