Following 18 seasons with Ben Roethlisberger as starting quarterback, the Steelers have an opening competition for the job, and according to BetOnline, first-round pick Kenny Pickett is the favorite to start the most games in 2022.

Pickett is -200 (1/2) and the front runner after being selected No. 20 overall to walk a few steps to his left from Pitt to the Steelers practice facility.

Pickett is also holds the second-best odds to win the 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Mitch Trubisky is second in the quarterback odds at +150 (3/2). Trubisky signed a two-year, $14.285 million deal at the start of free agency including a $5.25 million signing bonus.

The former Chicago Bear and Buffalo Bill is entering his sixth NFL season and was selected to the Pro Bowl his sophomore campaign in 2018. Trubisky spent 2021 in Buffalo backing up Josh Allen.

Mason Rudolph and seventh-round selection Chris Oladokun complete the Steelers’ quarterback room entering OTA’s.

Head coach Mike Tomlin said following Pickett’s selection that he will have a chance to start week one and that an open competition will determine the opening signal-caller.
