Kenny Pickett Suffers Left Leg Injury against Saints

PITTSBURGH — The Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett limped off with a left ankle or foot injury after being sacked against the New Orleans Saints. Mitch Trubisky was warming up on the sideline prior to the Steelers attempting a field goal at the end of the drive.

Pickett appeared to get rolled up on during a sack and never fully looked right after the play. Immediately after coming off the field, trainers escorted Pickett into the tent to get evaluated for a potential injury.

It is now the second time Pickett has been banged up at various points this season. He suffered a concussion against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and missed the rest of the game. Trubisky then led the Steelers to a win following the injury. Pickett did head into the tent with his helmet.

It seems likely that at this point, the Steelers could be missing their rookie quarterback. The Saints have hit five quarterback hits and three sacks. After coming out of the medical tent, Pickett had his left ankle heavily taped up and was in full uniform.

UPDATE: Kenny Pickett has returned to the game.
