Lamar Jackson among Five Ravens Out with Injuries Wednesday

Star quarterback Lamar Jackson did not practice for the the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday, one of nine Baltimore players to miss the first workout session of the week as the Ravens prepare for their must-win game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Jackson (ankle), cornerback Anthony Averett (ribs/chest), tackle Patrick Mekari (hand), outside linebacker Odafe Oweh (foot), fullback Patrick Ricard (knee) all did not practice due to injures, while guard Ben Powers (foot) was limited.

Outside linebacker Justin Houston, cornerback Jimmy Smith, cornerback Tavon Young and guard Kevin Zeitler were given the day off.

Jackson hasn’t played since Week 14 against Cleveland, with Tyler Huntley starting each of the last three games. Baltimore is 1-2 in games Huntley starts this season. He has a 67.5% completion percentage and 84.4 passer rating.

Oweh, a rookie from Penn State, has made two starts and has been a regular part of Baltimore’s pass rushing rotation. He’s second among the Ravens with five quarterback sacks and tied for third with six tackles for loss.

Mekari has made 11 starts at right tackle. If he’s unable to play, Tyre Phillips is Baltimore’s top backup.

Averett has started 14 games at cornerback.
