Steelers running back Najee Harris broke the franchise record for reception in a season by a rookie in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Harris caught five passes in the first half to give him 67 on the season. He broke the record of his teammate, Chase Claypool, who set the mark with 62 in 2020.

Fellow current Steelers Diontae Johnson (59) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (58) are fourth and fifth. Troy Edwards held the mark of 61 from his rookie season of 1999 until Claypool broke it last year.

Harris also moved to seventh place in NFL history in receptions by a rookie running back. He passed Nyheim Hines and Matt Forte, who were tied for eighth with 63, and Mike Alstotto, who was alone in seventh with 65 catches.

He needs eight more to pass Terry Kirby for sixth. Saquon Barkley holds the record with 91.
