In their weekly release of COVID-19 testing results, the NFL and NFLPA announced 45 new confirmed positive tests for the second-straight week.

During the testing period spanning from Dec. 6 through 12, their were 14 new positives among players and 31 among other personnel.

In total, 41,857 tests were administered to 6,960 players and staff members over the period.

There were also 45 new confirmed positive tests (18 players and 27 staff members) between Nov. 29 and Dec. 5.

While cases have dropped league-wide from the alarming rates seen at the height of the Baltimore Ravens outbreak in mid-November, it is still concerning that the number of positive tests had remained stagnant and no decreased further.

Inside linebacker Vince Williams is the only Pittsburgh Steeler currently on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Running back James Conner and center Maurkice Pouncey were both activated from the designation last week and played Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills.
