NFL Sets Dates for 2022 Franchise Tags, Free Agency, NFL Draft, Offseason Workouts
The NFL and NFLPA have agreed upon important dates for the 2022 league year, including the franchise tag deadline, start of free agency and beginning of OTAs.
Clubs will have until 4 p.m. on March 8, 2022 to apply the franchise or transition tag to players.
The new league year and free agency will both begin at 4 p.m. on March 16, 2022.
As for OTAs, team with a new head coach will be permitted to begin their offseason program on April 4. All other clubs will be allowed to begin on April 18.
The last day of the restricted free agent signing period will be April 22, but clubs will have until April 27 to match offer sheets.
Lastly, the 2022 NFL Draft will be held in Las Vegas from April 28 to 30.
