Odds Favor Steelers to Stock Up at Receiver in 2025 NFL Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers have already addressed the receiver position once this offseason. Despite Mike Tomlin’s team’s trade for DK Metcalf last month, Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson believes the Steelers will add another wideout early in the 2025 NFL Draft. Missouri’s Luther Burden III (+500) is the favorite to be the Steelers’ choice at No. 21 overall, while Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka and Texas’ Matthew Golden (+550) follow.
Following them are North Carolina tailback Omarion Hampton (+650) and Oregon defensive lineman Derrick Harmon (+700). Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart (+1000), Michigan defensive lineman Kenneth Grant (+1200), and Colorado passer Shedeur Sanders (+1500) remain in the mix as longshots.
Daniel Jeremiah ranks Luther Burden as the No. 33 overall prospect on his big board.
“Burden is a quick, athletic slot receiver,” Jeremiah wrote. “He received a lot of quick hitters in Missouri’s offense. He excels on underneath option routes that allow him to combine his feel to create space and his suddenness to generate yards after the catch. He has outstanding body control, giving him the ability to contort and haul in poorly thrown balls.”
The Steelers have been tied to each of the eight prospects in mock drafts this offseason. Lately, projections have favored Hampton and Dart, with ESPN’s Field Yates explaining in his most recent scenario why Pittsburgh would take Dart.

“While it seems the Steelers are the most likely landing spot for Aaron Rodgers, signing him would not preclude them from looking toward the future at quarterback,” Yates wrote. “Rodgers is 41 years old, and each coming season is a true year-to-year proposition. But Pittsburgh hasn’t even signed Rodgers yet, meaning Mason Rudolph is the current QB1.”
Dart is Ole Miss’ all-time leading passer and paced the country in yards per attempt (10.8) last season. He’s thrown 52 touchdowns and 11 interceptions over the past two go-rounds.
