INDIANAPOLIS — Oklahoma edge rusher Nik Bonitto met with a bevy of the Pittsburgh Steelers brass in his formal meeting, he said when speaking to the media on Friday.

Bonitto noted that the staff was fantastic. He had an absolute blast talking to them, and it is a place where he could see himself ending up.

“I met with the Steelers the first day we got here on Wednesday,” Bonnito said.

It was a formal interview, and Bonnito ended up meeting with Mike Tomlin, Kevin Colbert, Teryl Austin, and Brian Flores. Bonnito said he steals things from both Von Miller and Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt. Specifically, Bonitto stole Watt’s dip and rip technique in order to further his.

“For a guy like T.J. Watt, I feel like I can take parts of his game,” Bonnito said. “I just love his relentlessness. If I can be relentless, everything else can follow.”

Bonnito is a Bednarik Award Semifinalist and was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus in 2021. The explosive traits he carries are eye-popping. Thus, it is very little surprise that he would have fans in the Steelers’ building.
