Pittsburgh Ranked as Top Football City for Fans

Published

on

Pittsburgh’s love affair with the Steelers is one of the most notable things about sports in the Steel City. WalletHub.com feels that Pittsburgh is actually the best city for football fans in the entire country.

To substantiate their ranking, WalletHub compared more than 240 U.S. cities with at least one college or professional football team based on 21 key metrics. This data includes metrics from the number of NFL and college football teams, to stadium capacity, to fan engagement.

Pittsburgh is ranked in the top spot, with Dallas, Green Bay, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, New Orleans, Cincinnati and Indianapolis placed at second through tenth.

Having a major conference program like Pitt is what appears to be a difference maker over some of the other cities just below Pittsburgh.

Conversely, some of the worst football cities are St. George, Utah, Providence, Rhode Island, Ithaca, New York and Columbia, South Carolina.
