Steelers DL Cam Heyward Leaves With Undisclosed Injury

CINCINNATI — Steelers defenisve lineman Cam Heyward left Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Heyward started on a knee but got up and walked off the field with trainers to head to the bench to be evaluated.

Heyward headed into the tent immediately after the injury. It is just one of the many injuries in an entire set of them for the Steelers, including DeMarvin Leal, Najee Harris, and T.J. Watt. Heyward’s injury could be as signifcicant as any of them with his impact on the team’s interiror pass rush.

Heyward did appear to come out of the tent with his helmet and was talking it up with other players in good spirits. With the injury undisclosed, it is hard to put any stock into what the injury may have been. Still, Heyward dealt with a left ankle injury late in training camp. It could be reaggravation, but for now, the Steelers appear to have dodged a serious injury at this point.
