The Pittsburgh Steelers have the NFL’s fourth most manageable travel schedule in the 2024 season, according to research by Bill Speros of Bookies.com.

The Steelers only travel to the Pacific Time Zone once to face the Las Vegas Raiders and only have three true flights with the Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Atlanta Falcons. That means they will play just two games outside of the Eastern Time Zone this season.

The team will play at AFC North rivals Baltimore, Cincinnati and Cleveland, Atlanta NFC South, Philadelphia and Washington from the NFC East, as well as Indianapolis, Las Vegas, and Denver.

The only teams below the Steelers are the Bengals, Commanders, and Colts. That gives Pittsburgh a nice bump, though the early leaks show they will be on the road early and often.

The Steelers played nine home games in 2023, so they will play nine on the road this season. Each year, they will alternate between nine home and road games.

A predetermined formula sets the NFL’s travel schedules. So, it’s not like this was anything unexpected from Pittsburgh’s side of it. On paper, the Steelers toughest game in 2024 is against the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Overall, they’ll have the third-toughest strength of schedule in 2024, with their opponents holding a combined win percentage of .533. Only the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens have a tougher strength of schedule.

The Steelers schedule does appear to be tough with that metric. But the strength of the schedule is just something on paper, as teams can drastically change from year to year. The boost that head coach DeMeco Ryans and quarterback C.J. Stroud gave to the Houston Texans is a prime example.

Below is the Steelers’ 2024 opponents and the home/away slots.

Home: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, New York Jets

Away: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts
