PITTSBURGH — The Steelers got some good news when Marcus Allen returned to the practice field on Wednesday in full capacity. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that Marcus Allen ramped up after he suffered a hamstring injury three weeks ago in training camp. With Allen now back, the Steelers’ inside linebacker room should be relatively healthy.

Rookie wide receiver Calvin Austin III still is dealing with his foot injury. While Austin feels that he is nearing a return, the rookie receiver is not back to full participation. At this point, Tomlin does not know when that will be for Austin, but he is getting closer as the weeks go by.

Meanwhile, Isaiahh Loudermilk was limited with an undisclosed injury as well. He left early on Thursday in training camp before returning with a rib injury. However serious that might be, it is undisclosed at this time.

The Steelers have gotten progressively healthier as the training camp season has gone on by. Now, they are just waiting to get a few other players back into full participation in order to fully declare themselves fully healthy. Still, it appears that the Steelers should have a cleaner bill of health heading into the Detroit game than they did heading into the Jacksonville game.
