Madden 23 Ratings Revealed For Steelers Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

Madden 23 has started to reveal player ratings. On Monday, they revealed their first batch of ratings with the wide receivers and tight ends being revealed. That included a young group of Steelers weapons. The results were interesting, and predictably, standout wide receiver Diontae Johnson led the way.

Johnson’s 85 overall rating was the best of the pass catchers unit in Madden 23. It has yet to be seen, but it could easily be the best on the offense coming off a 1,000-yard season. Johnson’s 91 catch rating was the best on the team as well, showcasing his improvement in that area.

Pat Freiermuth trailed behind with a 79 overall rating. That was not among the Top-15 tight ends in the NFL after what was a strong rookie season for the Penn State product. Just behind him was Chase Claypool with a 78 overall rating. The third-year wideout is looking for a breakout season. Here is the full list of Madden ratings for the group.

There are some notable ratings within the crop. Zach Gentry being rated below Jace Sternberger is certainly interesting after it appeared Gentry locked down the second tight end job at the end of the 2021 season. George Pickens is the sixth highest-rated rookie in the game. Meanwhile, Calvin Austin comes in with a 95-speed rating, the 9th fastest among players revealed thus far.

There were not a ton of surprises on the list. However, the Steelers did not rank a wide receiver in the Top 20, as Johnson is just outside that category. He is tied with CeeDee Lamb, which is an interesting wrinkle. Madden is planning to reveal ratings over the coming week, with edge rushers being revealed tomorrow.
