Chase Claypool speaks out about his usage in the Pittsburgh Steelers offense, the Steelers move up the draft order after Carolina’s win on Thursday night football.

🏈 Chase Claypool believes the Steelers view of him and his role in their offense changed. “I just think that at some point – the perspective on me, at some point, was like, ‘oh, he’s not a red-zone threat,’ for some reason. Or, ‘he’s not a deep-ball threat,’ for some reason,” Claypool told the Chicago media on Wednesday. “I’m not sure why that happened. I started getting formationed away from those things. It was hard for me to make big plays because anytime there was a big play drawn up, it was like on the other side. I think it was just like the opportunity. Sometimes that’s how it goes, that’s just how the offensive system works at that time.”

🏈 On the latest episode of For The PodcastMike Tomlin’s son, Dino, discussed growing up in the game, Primanti Bros. and putting his own seasoning on the wide receiver position at Boston College.

🏈 Nearly 16 years to the day (Nov. 12, 2006), Willie Parker rushed for 213 yards on 22 carries (9.7 average) and two touchdowns in a Steelers’ 38-31 win over the New Orleans Saints. The Steelers were also 2-6 entering the game.

🏈 Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that he got caught speeding in his new town deep in the heart of Cowboys country. The cops might have let Roger Staubach off the hook, but Bradshaw wasn’t getting any special treatment. “First of all I’m in Texas, this is Cowboy country!’” Bradshaw screamed. “‘Who beat ’em in the Super Bowls, who was the quarterback?’ Me!” he said.

🏈 According to Scott Kascmar, the Steelers are 15-3-3 against the spread as a home underdog since 2007, which is by far the best record in the NFL in that time. The Saints are currently 1.5-point favorites over the Steelers for Sunday’s game.

🏈 The Steelers are 2-13-1 since 2017 when T.J. Watt doesn’t play at least 60% of the defensive snaps. Watt is expected to come off injured reserve and be active for Sunday’s game, but defensive coordinator Teryl Austin suggested that he will be on a snap count.

🏈 Andy Dalton is 3-13 in his career against the Steelers. Dalton-led teams have also never scored more than 21 points in a game against Pittsburgh.

🏈 In an interview sponsored by Snickers, Tommy Jaggi of FanSided asked Najee Harris if he thought the foot injury affected his performance at all this year. Harris responded clear to the point: “No. No sir.”

🏈 The Carolina Panthers defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 25-15, on Thursday night. With Carolina earning their third win of the season, the Steelers would have the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft if the season were to end today.

🏈 During Thursday night’s game, Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota had by far the worst pass attempt of the season, perhaps even NFL history. Baker Mayfield also lost his mind and celebrated by delivering headbutts to teammates without a helmet on. So, yeah, it was another uneventful Thursday Night Football game.

🏈 The NFL on CBS Twitter account reminded everyone of just how great the Steelers’ 2008 defense was.

🏈 The Steelers signed kicker Matthew Wright to the 53-man roster from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad.

🏈 The Steelers will practice at 12:15 p.m. — Alan Saunders, Ed Thompson
