Steelers Safety Terrell Edmunds Out For Game With Concussion

PITTSBURGH — Steelers safety Terrell Edmunds left the game after a nasty collision between Edmunds and Jets running back Michael Carter. Edmunds remained down on the football field and gingerly walked into the blue medical tent where he was evaluated. He is in concussion protocol and will miss the rest of the game.

Immediately after coming out of the tent, Edmunds, without his helmet, was ushered into the locker room by team trainers. With Edmunds out, it is expected that Tre Norwood will take over the duties for Edmunds.

Edmunds collided helmet to helmet with Carter and appeared to be dizzy after the play. It is unknown if he is in concussion protocol or if there is another injury that Edmunds could be dealing with at the time.

Pittsburgh is already missing safety Damontae Kazee due to a wrist injury and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon due to a hamstring injury. There is only so much depth that Pittsburgh will be able to lose in the secondary until they lose some sauce on the defensive side of the football.
